Last night Amy brought over her “shellac hack" supplies and this is my messy attempt at Easter nails. Today we went for pedicures and leg bruises.

I spent the whole day in an HTML & CSS class and my brain hurts but I can now make you a one page, ugly-as-sin website from scratch.

I can’t imagine ever being good at it. The same way I can’t imagine ever being good at Spanish. (Remind me to tell you someday how completely unable I was to learn Spanish in college. It’s a long, sad story.)

Speaking of college. If I knew then what I know now I totally would have gotten my bachelor’s in computer science instead of journalism/mass comm. I’d be way less poor.

Anyway, I learned things today. The end.

Spent the evening with a girlfriend I haven’t seen in so long I just gave her her Christmas gift tonight.

It was really good to see her. It’s so easy for me to lose touch with people. I’m so good at letting time pass without calling or texting, or making plans and breaking them at the last minute. I need to stop doing that.

Omg

This reminds me of the chickens we have at home. Love them.

I want to hug a chicken so bad right now.

My gram is 91 today. We asked her where she wanted to go to dinner to celebrate and she chose a hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint and ordered a half rack of ribs. While her memory is starting to go, she’s remarkably healthy for her age. She’s survived three bouts of cancer, the last of which was less than ten years ago, and had her second hip replacement last year. Not only did she recover faster than me, she complained a lot less. She’s buried a husband, two of her five children, and takes care of our entire family. She still drives (for better or worse), still cooks, and she never lets anyone tell her what to do. She’s a little spitfire.
If I have to stay on this Earth as long as her I want it to be like that.

Spent the weekend taking lots of pictures. Saturday it was for a local no-kill shelter that’s putting together a calendar of its foster animals and today it was my favorite abandoned beach. Definitely my happy for the weekend.
